An Hour in the Deep is a collection of young voices engaging in eco- journalism about the ocean.

Our magazine seeks to promote a multidimensional understanding of ocean topics, serve as a hub for conservation ideas, and engage young people to explore ocean solutions.

We publish articles, photography, and art from youth contributors around the world in an effort to bridge the dichotomy of storytelling and science.

When reading An Hour in the Deep Magazine, you’ll find out about topics ranging from regenerating corals, to the echoes of the Atlantis legend in modern times, to the indigenous practices in fisheries management, to the mystery of whale song, and more…

Thank you for coming along on this journey.

Fighting the forces of climate change with a single voice can feel like you’re shouting into the void.

But when young people combine their talents and produce a distinct body of work like an e-magazine, we show the world that we’re serious. That we’re dedicated to sharing our knowledge. That we can mobilize for change.

Follow our journey.
